Project Goal
To enhance the overall health and well-being of transport sector workers in targeted hubs of Delhi/NCR, with a special focus on truckers, transport support staff, and their families.
Key Objectives
- Provide access to quality primary healthcare services
- Ensure free distribution of prescribed medicines
- Offer basic diagnostic lab testing facilities
- Raise awareness and reduce the spread of HIV and other communicable/non-communicable diseases
- Promote personal health, hygiene, sanitation, and nutrition practices
- Encourage healthy behavior through targeted Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) initiatives
- Strengthen referral and linkage networks with public and private healthcare provider
Target Population
The trucker community, due to their mobile lifestyle, often faces significant challenges in accessing healthcare. Limited awareness, high mobility, and harsh working conditions make them vulnerable to health risks such as:
- HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
- Eye problems and vision impairment
- Diabetes, hypertension, and general health issues
Transport support staff and family members are also affected by similar health challenges due to the demanding nature of their environment.
Major Activities
Through our Mobile Health Interventions and outreach efforts, we have directly reached thousands of individuals with essential health services, information, and support.
- General and STI treatment by MBBS Doctors.
- Free medicine distribution as per Doctor’s prescription.
- Basic lab testing for HIV, Random Blood Sugar (RBS), and Tuberculosis (TB).
- Awareness sessions on HIV/AIDS, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- STI screening and counselling.
- Eye care and diabetes check-ups.
- Distribution of IEC materials.
- Referral and linkage with local health facilities.
- Capacity building for peer educators.
We organize focused health camps covering:
- Tuberculosis (TB) screening.
- HIV testing.
- Hypertension and diabetes screening.
- Vision screening.
- General health check-ups
