The program is supported by HONDA CSR initiatives with an aim to improve the lives of War/Army Widows in Delhi/NCR and reduce the incidence of poverty that tends to flow from one generation to another. It also empowers them to overcome from many traditional norms of oppression that they have to face. The program will improve the socio-economic condition of war/ army widows through providing training on vocational and entrepreneurial skills in a self-sustainable manner. It will create market linkages for continuous demand of “bike-bags” and generate income for them. Initially, the project will benefit 60 War/Army widows from Delhi/ NCR who are living in a dismal condition and are struggling for livelihood. The project will also reach out to additional War/ Army widows from the other parts of the country in the subsequent phases. The project will also undertake several outreach initiatives to understand the on ground situation of the War/Army widows.
