Apollo Health Care Express

The program is supported by Apollo Tyres Foundation with an aim to make affordable health care services to the underprivileged people associated with transport work at their doorsteps along-with a process of sensitization to promote their healthy behavior. Thus it has both the preventive as well as curative approach. The program will mainly benefit truckers and Transport support workers and their family members and focus on health issues related to their occupation and general health problems as well. We plan to cover 10000 families reaching to more than 120000 persons with an Objective to improve the health status of the transport sector workers in targeted hubs of Delhi, with a special focus on Truckers and Transport support workers and their families.

Most of the health care services provided by the government have been focusing on the urban areas and densely habituated places because of which health care facilities in the transport hubs are mostly uncovered or being served by Private entities, which are often unaffordable. The transport sector workers are thus denied even the basic health care facilities. Transport hubs in cities suffer from adverse health conditions owing to insufficient services, low levels of awareness and poor environment. The program will focus and implemented in the Transport hubs within Delhi and NCR where the truckers halt for their routine business.
