For Nav Srishti, menstrual hygiene is not just about access to sanitary products. It is about ensuring that every girl and woman can understand her body, take care of her health, and manage her periods with dignity, confidence and without shame.
Over the past five years, Nav Srishti has strengthened its work on menstrual hygiene management (MHM) as part of its broader Health and WASH initiatives. Working with adolescent girls, women and children from marginalised communities, the organisation focuses on three practical needs: access to correct information, safe menstrual products and hygienic facilities, and opportunities for girls to speak about their concerns and participate in decisions that affect their lives.
Nav Srishti’s approach is grounded in community engagement. In May and June 2025, the organisation participated in the Delhi FANSA campaign, alongside 14 other civil society organisations. The campaign created opportunities for children to learn about menstruation, understand the use of sanitary products and safe disposal practices, and discuss cleanliness and self-care. Drawing activities gave children another way to express their thoughts and engage with these subjects in a comfortable and age-appropriate manner.
